What_should_be_the_daily_routine_to_crack_NEET_2021_with_a_good_rankBefore planning out your day to day routine for NEET preparation, it is detrimental to familiarise yourself with three key aspects,

  • Which area of subjects does NEET delve into (Syllabus)
  • How is the paper structured, and what is the exam pattern
  • How much weightage does each subject/ section have

By following the points mentioned above, you will be able to give structure and proper direction to your day to day routine for NEET preparation. It is essential to understand that to achieve a good rank, you will have to dedicate quality time to various aspects of your preparation every day. Through this article, you should have a better idea of planning and implementing essential pit stops throughout your preparation journey!

Many aspiring medicine students attempting the NEET assessment become even harder to prepare amongst the high competition and a vast syllabus. This is why coming up with a day to day routine or preparation strategy is vital for a good rank.

  • Try to accomplish your preparation in phases. For example, the first preparation phase should cover a particular subject or a particular section of the paper. The subjects that are tested on the exam are Physics, Biology and Chemistry. Considering that the portion is vast, you can also split each subject into different parts. Say, Biology has two main topics,

– Zoology

-Botany

-Microbiology

-Genetics & Evolution

-Human Physiology

-Biology and Human Welfare

  • Dedicate the first week for a thorough understanding of any two topics; continue this till the syllabus is completed for Biology. After which, you can move to Physics and Chemistry.
  • It is vital to set goals or milestones to achieve your target efficiently. Setting a deadline helps you work towards it faster and more productively. Remember not to rush the process and set achievable goals.
  • Another strategy you can use is the weightage strategy. By starting with weaker subjects and topics that have a greater weightage in the syllabus, you will prepare right in a shorter period. After which, you can dedicate more time to revision and attempting mock tests.
  • You can segment important things to learn for each subject. For example, when preparing for Physics, make sure to divide your time every day for
  • Numericals
  • Formulas
  • Theories/ concepts/physic laws

For Chemistry and Biology, remember to divide your time between,

                 – Diagrams

                 – Important formulas

                 -Chemical equations

  • You can also split your preparation material wise. In this sense, you can focus on covering topics from the NCERT book for the first few weeks and then try additional, relevant material from other sources like books and websites. This will give you an edge over other students.
  • Don’t over study every day; instead, pick 3-4 hours of studying divided into two halves of the day with multiple short breaks for effective study.
  • After the segment of learning concepts, practising questions and preparing relevant notes, you can switch to revision week.
  • Revision week requires you to practice different types of questions, long/short answer questions, diagram questions, questions involving important equations and formulas. Ensure that your revision week is given longer time and dedication. This way, even if you missed out on a topic or did not fully understand it, revising it over and over can help retain information more efficiently.
  • The following weeks after revision should be dedicated to mock tests and evaluating performance. Attempting mock tests can help you,
  • Build confidence
  • It tells you where you stand preparation wise
  • Helps in time management
  • Help analyse shortfalls
  • The last bit of your day to day NEET prep should be to take care of yourself physically and mentally. By maintaining a healthy lifestyle daily, you can pay better attention and concentrate with greater clarity. Stress and anxiety will only come in the way of your preparation. Practising meditation every day can also help improve your attention span.

Lastly, if you need additional help through your preparation, taking an online tutoring course can help switch things up and make learning more fun. It also allows you to interact with trained professionals on a one-on-one basis, giving you the chance to clear doubts then and there, leaving absolutely no room for doubts.
